Hurry, Hurry! Lots of places are selling out fast for their timed meet and greet Santa slots so it’s time to get booked. There are so many magical events happening this Christmas in the East Midlands. I’ve put them into one big post so here you will find 30 of the best Christmas events in the East midlands – Lincolnshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire – where you can meet Santa and more. Don’t forget to book in advance where possible.

Baytree Garden Centre, Spalding, Lincolnshire
One of the best Winter wonderlands and Grottos in the UK. Christmas at Baytree garden centre in Spalding has displays of decorations and lights that are envied far and wide. It now boasts a staggering 26,000 square feet of undercover area. Dates TBC.
Belton House, Grantham, Lincolnshire
Christmas at Belton – This winter Belton will be hosting the region’s biggest and brightest outdoor Christmas trail around the gardens at night. Complete with traditional Victorian fairground rides and tasty seasonal treats. From 28 November to 30 December.
Bluebells ice-cream, near Derby, Derbyshire
Santa’s Woodland Adventure – Follow the winding paths through the Christmas trees where you will find Santa’s Woodland Cabin. Enjoy a thorough 10-minute session with Santa in his cosy cabin as your children laugh and play with him and tell him their Christmas wishes. Plus much more.
Bolsover Castle, Derbyshire
An audience with Father Christmas – Join in the festive fun with the man himself at Bolsover Castle this Christmas. Meet Father Christmas as he tells tales of Christmas past among the yuletide decorations. 30th Nov to 22nd Dec.
Burghley House, Stamford, Lincolnshire
Christmas Fair – Their biggest ever Christmas Fair, with the special Angel Fair, will offer a unique opportunity to find perfect gifts in the beautiful Elizabethan surrounding of the Chestnut Courtyard and Brewhouse. 28th Nov – 1st Dec.
Chatsworth House, Derbyshire
Christmas at Chatsworth – The house will be transformed with our annual Christmas displays to get everyone into the festive spirit. 9th Nov to 5th Jan.
Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway, Lincolnshire
Experience a magical return journey to Lapland Central, tuck into seasonal treats in Mrs Claus’ Kitchen! Guests meet Santa in his beautiful grotto and receive a quality gift! 30th November, 1st, 7th,8th, 14th, 15th, 19th to 24th December.
Conkers, near Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire
Winter Wonderland – Santa’s Chief Elf and his team will lead you through the Enchanted Forest and the Valley of Christmas Lights to discover Santa’s Woodland Grotto and more. Selected dates in December.
Doddington Hall, near Lincoln, Lincolnshire
Add that extra bit of magic to the festive season for little ones and book a visit to see Father Christmas in the cosy family setting of the Hall’s Library. 1st – 22nd December. The Hall will also be decorated with the theme ‘enchanted forest’.
Ecclesbourne Valley railway, Derbyshire
Santa Experience – There will be music, magic and mince pies as you are welcomed in the beautifully decorated Santa’s Refreshment Area. See Santa in his onboard grotto where there are presents. Various dates in December.

Winter Wonderlights – A steam train with a magical twist, fantastically dressed in a myriad of lights. 23rd Nov to 30th Dec. Plus Santa steam trains 23rd Nov to 24th Dec. Let Father Christmas surprise you with an exciting present at your seat.

Christmas in Leicester – With seasonal attractions and entertainment such as Christmas Wheel of Light, Santa in the Square, De Montfort Hall’s pantomime Aladdin.
Lincoln Castle, Lincolnshire
An audience with Father Christmas – Sit back and listen to stories of Christmases from the past and enjoy finding out more about Father Christmas himself.
