Is it just me or has this year gone really fast? I thought 2017 went fast but 2018 has flown by and Halloween is fast approaching. My son adores Halloween and we always try to go to as many Halloween events as possible. I have put together a useful list of what’s on for Halloween, in the East Midlands. It’s full of things to do at some of the top attractions across Lincolnshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire.
Bell’s Garden Outlet near Boston – Bell’s Pumpkin Patch – Lincolnshire
Bell’s Pumpkin Patch opens October 13th. Attractions include pick your own pumpkins, bounce and climb, maize maze, catapults and cannon, carving tent and much more.

Belvoir Castle – Halloween ‘School of Witchcraft & Wizardry’ – Leicestershire
“27th – 31st October – Halloween ‘School of Witchcraft & Wizardry’. Storytelling, potions, broomstick making, a Banquet in the Great Hall, all sorts could happen in Belvoir Castle. Bolsover Castle – Tricks and Tonics – Derbyshire

Burghley House – Halloween Trail & Spooky Tours – Lincolnshire
“During October why not come and join us for the Burghley Halloween Trail around the Sculpture Garden. Tread through the crispy Autumn leaves and find the hidden spooks to receive a treat. Afterwards why not warm up in the Garden Cafe with a yummy hot chocolate or a cup of steaming soup? Open daily from 11am to 5pm (last admission at 4.30pm).” We took part in their Halloween Trail last year and it was great fun.
“Our popular Spooky Tours are returning, with local ghostly expert Martin Tempest, from Wednesday 17th to Wednesday 31st October. The tours are designed to be scary but fun. Although not recommended for children under 11, we leave it up to parents to decide as you know your children best!”

Easton Walled Gardens – Half Term Activities – Lincolnshire

Lincolnshire Wolds Railway – Trick or Treat! – Lincolnshire
“The Lincolnshire Wolds Railway is asking children to come dressed as ghosts and goblins, witches and wizards, and even creepy clowns, at its special Halloween event on Sunday 29th October. There will be spooky entertainment on board the special steam-hauled Ghost Train, which will be running hourly from 2.45 to 5.45pm at Ludborough station so prepare to be scared! Normal ticket prices apply: £7 adults, £5 seniors, £4 children and a family ticket costs £18 for two adults with up to four children. Passengers can travel up and down on the train as many times as they like during the day.”

Manor Farm and Woodlands – Halloween Fun Day – Leicestershire
“We’ll be carving pumpkins and having spooky fun in the woodlands on Sunday 28th October. Come along in fancy dress for games, crafts and animal activities. Explore the spooky trail. Make toast on the woodland campfire. Watch the pigs as they bob for apples. Join in our Halloween hunt. Visit the craft room to make something spooky to take home. And join in with a day of animal activities along the way. From 11am until 3pm we’ll also be carving pumpkins – free pumpkin for every child. Choose your own pumpkin, scoop out the flesh, draw a spooky design and one of our team will carve it especially for you. If you’re brave enough, join the wizard and his owl at the end of the day for our Spooky.”
