I feel a bit more prepared and a bit more ready for Halloween than I did this time last year. Maybe it’s the weather, maybe it’s because of how busy we’ve been this year but I’m ready. I have put together a list for 2019 of all the main events and things to do for Halloween and over October half-term. It’s full of things to do at some of the top attractions across Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire.

Bells Gardening Outlet, near Boston, Lincolnshire
Bell’s Pumpkin patch – There is a Maize Maize, Bounce and Climb, Catapulting Potatoes, pick you own pumpkin, a carving tent. There is also the only pumpkin cannon in the UK where you can fire the cannon. Dates not yet updated.
Belvoir Castle, Leicestershire
Halloween at Belvoir – Cuddle around a crone’s cauldron in Belvoir Castle’s Dooms. Explore the Castle, search for clues, complete your special spooky spell and receive rewards and more. 28th to 31st October.
Bolsover Castle, Derbyshire
Spooky castle – Get hands-on with creepy crafts and a wicked witch-themed quest. There’s a fancy dress competition every day
Burghley House, Stamford, Lincolnshire
Burghley Halloween Trail – This is a trail around the Sculpture Garden. Tread through the crispy Autumn leaves and find the hidden spooks to receive a treat. Plus there will be Spooky tours of the house. 19 Oct 2019 – 31 Oct 2019.
Chatsworth House, Derbyshire
Autumn half-term fun – Experience fiendish fun finding hidden pumpkins, dare to enter the abandoned tunnel and listen to spine-tingling storytelling in the garden. Plus creepy crafts and more. 26th Oct to 3rd Nov.
Conkers, near Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire
Halloween family nights – Are you prepared to come along and follow footsteps into the haunted woods? With all the ghostly ghouls, witches and trolls…will you make it out alive? Don’t forget all are welcome to the “Ugly Bugs Disco”. 30th & 31st October.
Crich Tramway Museum, Derbyshire
Starlight event – See Crich Tramway Village illuminated and ride the trams in the dark! An exciting programme of activities for all the family each day.
Doddington Hall, near Lincoln, Lincolnshire
Bring your wand for some adventures and scary surprises in the creepy, moonlit gardens. Scary fun for all ages on a darkly magical night you won’t forget! 23rd – 26th October. Plus pick your own pumpkins from the 12th-31st October.

Pumpkin Rolling event returns to Easton Walled Gardens! Follow the Halloween Trail around the 12-acre gardens and children are sure to be happily worn out after an active day! 16th – 27th October.
Ecclesbourne Valley Railway, Derbyshire
Wizarding specials – Travel to Wirksworth Wizarding Day the proper way on our very own Wizarding Specials from Duffield! Although it’s diesel-hauled, our Wizarding Special will use the authentic red corridor coaches that you know and love! Saturday 26th October.

Spooky treat trail – Suitable for ages 5 – 15 years. Each spooky trail sheet is £1.00 including prize & all proceeds going to our charity, 26th & 27th October.
Lincolnshire Wolds Railway, Lincolnshire
Halloween Special – Spooky entertainment when you ride on the Ghost Train! Meet face to face with birds of prey at your seats on the train and brave the spirits on board as you make your journey through the darkness. Sunday 27th October.
Manor Farm Park & Woodlands, Loughborough, Leicestershire
Halloween fun days – They’re planning lots of spooky fun in the woodlands the weekend of 26-27th October 2019. Free pumpkin for every child.

Spooky space – Make your own spooky slime.Join our Professors at the School of Science Magic for lessons in explosive potions and more. 12th Oct to 3rd Nov.

Hall-o-ween spooktacular – Head to the Hall-o-ween Spooktacular and enjoy a firework display, scare activities and lots more family fun! 27th October.

Harry Trotter & the pumpkin patch – Join us for a magical October at our Hogfarm Wizarding School. Test out your broomstick racing skills, make your own spell-casting magic wand and compete to be the best-dressed wizard in class! 19th to 31st October.

Halloween – Take a tractor ride to the pumpkin patch where every child receives a free pumpkin, spooky walkthrough and Halloween trail. 19th to 27th October.
Rockingham Castle, Leicestershire
Halloween fun – Help the witches Celebrate Halloween. With lots of activities to keep the children busy, including pumpkin rollings, biscuit decorating, quizzes & trails in the Gardens and Castle. 29th, 30th & 31st October.
Rufford Abbey, Nottinghamshire
Spectacle of light – Enjoy the amazing illuminated trail around Rufford Abbey’s stunning gardens, marvelling at the majestic trees and romantic ruins. Captain your own ship and scale the castle walls as you explore the night-time wonder of the new Adventure Play Area all lit under the stars. 18th Oct to 3rd Nov.
Sundown Adventureland, near Retford, Nottinghamshire
Halloween fun – It’s loads of spooky fun when Halloween arrives at Sundown Adventureland. You don’t need to worry about the little ones as it’s only ever spooky but never scary.
The fun starts with the Mysterious Monster Mission. Explore the park (enjoying the rides and attractions on the way) and find the eight hidden monsters and tick them off your Monster Hunt List. When you have found them all, head over to the Pumpkin Patch Cafe to trick a member of the Sundown Team and get yourself a sweet treat as a reward. If you’re feeling particularly mischievous, then your next destination needs to be Honey Pot Cottage where you’ll get the chance to trick ‘n treat Honey and sunny and their best (but slightly naughty) friends Kiki & Koko.
It’ll be a fun family Sundown day out with adventure and spooky fun for all ages, throughout the day. 19th October 2019 – 3rd November 2019
Tattershall Castle, Lincolnshire
Frightening delights – With spooky surprises and creepy crafting activities to keep the kids entertained, it’s a great day out for the family. Our Halloween trail gets you creeping all around and up the Great Tower. 21st – 27th October.
