20 Great Easter Events in East Riding Yorkshire & North Yorkshire 2019

Family-friendly guide to 30 plus of the best Easter events that are on this Easter in the East Riding of Yorkshire and North Yorkshire. There are plenty of places to take a day out in these counties but these are the places with fun events on for the Easter holidays.

Beningbrough Hall and Gardens – Easter events – North Yorkshire

Where? – Beningbrough, York YO30 1DD, North Yorkshire
What’s on – “Saturday 13 – Sunday 28 April 2019, 10.30am – 5pm (Closed Monday 15 April). As well as the Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt over the bank holiday weekend, there’s a fantastic line up of activities running for the two weeks to keep all the family entertained come rain or shine. Romp through the gardens looking for signs of nature waking up from its winter slumbers. Can you find the baby animals as you go? Find a new trail through the gardens for the holidays.”

“Friday 19 –  Monday 22 April. The popular Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt returns over the bank holiday weekend with a new trail to follow and a chocolatey treat for your efforts. As you hunt for clues, enjoy the gardens in all their springtime glory and look out for that cheeky Easter Bunny popping up behind the trees and bushes. Then take on the family with an egg and spoon race across the lawn. The trail sheet costs £2 with each one getting a Cadbury chocolate prize. Running 10.30am – 4pm.”
Entry costs – Entrance is free to National Trust members. An adult standard ticket costs £14.40 for the whole property and it’s £7.20 for a child.

Beverley Racecourse – Easter Family Raceday – East Riding

Where? – York Rd, Beverley HU17 8QZ
What’s on – 17th April “A spring afternoon of racing perfect for the whole family, the afternoon’s highlights include a chocolate egg decorating workshop with Butterfly Chocolates of Pocklington, as well as a magical Easter Egg Tree, hung with real chocolate eggs to pick. There’s also mini funfair rides, trampolines to bounce into spring and face painting. Under 18s go free and most of the fun is free too, so it really is the perfect day out this Easter. Gates open at 12 noon. Decorate your own egg with white chocolate, sprinkles, stars, and chocolate beans in our Easter chocolate workshop and more.”
Entry costs – The cheapest tickets are £4.00 per person.

Bolton Abbey – Easter Trail – North Yorkshire

Where? – Bolton Abbey, Skipton BD23 6AL.
What’s on – “Saturday 6 April – Sunday 28 April 2019. Hop through Strid Wood and keep your eyes peeled for our larger than life bunnies hiding in the trees. They shouldn’t be too hard to find with their brightly coloured coats on! The Easter Bunny will be in situ over the Easter weekend 19 April – 22 April. The Easter Trail will run every day from Saturday 6 April – Sunday 28 April. Collect your free trail form from the Riverside Car Park kiosk on arrival. Once you have completed the trail, hand your trail form into the Cavendish Shop (or to the Easter Bunny over Easter weekend) to be entered into our free prize draw to win a Bolton Abbey Season Ticket.”
Entry costs – They are yet to update their next season prices. However, over the winter it cost £10.00 to park a car. After that entry is free.

Burnby Hall and Gardens – Easter Celebrations – East Riding

Where? – 33 The Balk, Pocklington, York YO42 2QF.
What’s on – “Date: April 22, 2019. Time: 1100 – 1530. Easter Art and Crafts and meet our real lambs, chicks, ducklings and bunnies, along with an Easter themed trail around the Gardens.”
Entry costs – A standard adult ticket costs £5.50 and £3.10 for a child 5-15. Under 5’s are free.

Burton Agnes Hall – Easter Trail and Hunt – East Riding

Where? – Rudston Rd, Burton Agnes, Driffield YO25 4NB.
What’s on – Easter trail “From 6th April to 22nd April children are invited to take part in an Easter trail around the magnificent grounds of the Hall, solving clues while exploring the extensive gardens. Once the conundrum has been solved, every child will receive an Easter treat. There are puzzles to solve and games to play, while in the craft tent children can get creative with colouring. Excitingly, there is a giant golden egg to find, which the Easter Bunny has been hidden somewhere in the grounds!”

Easter Egg Hunt “Sunday 21st April and Monday 22nd April, 11am to 5pm. On Easter Sunday and Monday, children are invited to join the Easter Bunny and search for some of the many thousands of chocolate Easter eggs that are hidden in the Hall’s woodland.”
Entry costs – An adult ticket costs £7.00 and £4.00 for a child aged 4-15. Under 4’s are free.

Burton Constable – Easter event – East Riding

Where? – Burton Constable, Skirlaugh, Hull HU11 4LN, East Riding.
What’s on – “Sat 6th April 2019 to Mon 22nd April 2019. There is so much for visitors to see and do at Burton Constable Hall & Grounds during the Easter holidays. It’s the perfect day out for families of all ages! More information to follow.”
Entry costs – An adult house, grounds and stables ticket costs £11.50 and £5.75 for a child aged 5-18. Under 5’s are free.

Castle Howard – Easter Egg Hunt – North Yorkshire

Where? Castle Howard, York YO60 7DA.
What’s on – “Egg-splore the Castle Howard grounds this Easter on an egg hunt like no other! The Castle Howard bunnies have lost their eggs around the grounds and we need your help to find them. Collect a price from the Boathouse once you have reunited the eggs with the bunnies! This trail, along with Castle Howard’s high-energy adventure playground, boat trips on the Great Lake (weather permitting), rides on the land train and delicious ice cream make for a great Easter day out! Included in standard admission. Don’t miss our Easter Weekend Fairground Rides! Lightwater Valley Theme Park – Easter Events – North Yorkshire

Where? – Water Ln, North Stainley, Ripon HG4 3HT.
What’s on – “Budding buccaneers will want to have a go at the pirate-themed treasure trail egg hunt around the park over the Easter weekend – Friday 19th – Monday 22nd April.  Follow the clues on the treasure map around the park to track down letters then spell out the word correctly to collect a chocolatey prize, but beware of the pesky pirates on the way who will be trying to guard their loot. There will be pirate-themed face painting over the Easter weekend too!” Plus much more.
Entry costs – A ticket for those over 1.3m if bought online in advance costs £22.50. 1.0m-1.3m costs £15.00 and under 1.00m £8.00. Children under 3 years are free.

Mother Shipton’s Cave – Happy Easter Adventure Trail – North Yorkshire

Where? – Prophecy Lodge, Harrogate Rd, High Bridge, Knaresborough HG5 8DD.
What’s on – “Hop along to Mother Shipton’s during the Easter Holidays for a hoppingly fun time. Follow the trail and on your way, help Little Bo Peep find her sheep! You can also meet bunnies Betty and Clover and solve puzzles and clues for a chocolatey treat. The park will be transformed with props and actors, creating an engaging and interactive Easter event suitable for all the family. Every day from Monday 1st April to Sunday 28th April, open 10am to 5.30pm (last admission 4.30pm).”

Newby Hall – Easter Family Fun Days – North Yorkshire

Where?Ripon HG4 5AE. What’s on – “Join us at Newby Hall for our ever popular Easter Family Fun Days. This year there will be an Alice in Wonderland theme around the Gardens and ‘Golden Eggs’ for you to find, Flamingo Croquet to play and a magical trail throughout the Woodland Walk!” Date(s) – 21/04/2019 – 22/04/2019

Nunnington Hall – Captain compost and the Cadbury Egg Hunt – North Yorkshire

What’s on – Sat 13 Apr 2019 + 15 other dates. Through a series of trails and puzzles discover if they and their earthworm warriors have the knowledge to defeat Colonel Chemicals from contaminating the earth, and celebrate victory with a Cadbury chocolate treat. £2.50 per person

Piglets Adventure Farm – Easter Fun – North Yorkshire

What’s on – “Easter egg hunt. Little egg hunters can take part in the new Easter Egg Hunt. Bigger & better than ever before, collect eggs from hidden chicks around the farm to earn a special treat. RHS Garden Harlow Carr – Easter Holiday Family Fun – North Yorkshire

What’s on – 30th March – 29th April “Hop on down for a great garden adventure with The Rhyming Rabbit this Easter. Keep your eyes peeled for the Rhyming Rabbit on a hop about the garden trail and enjoy craft activities based on the picture book by Julia Donaldson and Lydia Monks and brought to you in association with Macmillan Children’s Books. Activities vary daily. Normal garden admission applies.”

Ryedale Folk Museum – Traditional Easter Fun – North Yorkshire

Scampston Hall – Easter Fun Day – North Yorkshire

What’s on – Fri 26 Apr 2019. “Our supervised holiday sessions run by Liz Wattrus, Education Officer and her team, for all children to enjoy.  Scampston Conservatory’s hugely popular Fun Days are a great way to keep the children entertained during the school holidays. Your kids will get the chance to get creative, inspired by spring plants and animals. Come along and make a collection of lovely items to take home and participate in a nature walk across Scampston’s beautiful park.
The event is open to KS1 and KS2 children.”

Outdoor performance walk with a larger than life character! Lasts approx. 30 mins. All children must be accompanied by an adult. “Giant forest egg hunt – Find our giant hand painted character eggs including a Humpty and Goldilocks! The Easter eggs are hidden around the Enchanted Forest. Cannon Hall Farm will be having a Easter Egg Hunt. Brodsworth Hall and Gardens have an Easter Adventure Quest event. The Tropical Butterfly house are going to be mad about Madagascar. The Yorkshire Wildlife Park will be having three days of the Wildest Wizard of Oz.
