Family-friendly guide to 30 plus of the best Easter events that are on this Easter in the East Riding of Yorkshire and North Yorkshire. There are plenty of places to take a day out in these counties but these are the places with fun events on for the Easter holidays.

What’s on – “Saturday 13 – Sunday 28 April 2019, 10.30am – 5pm (Closed Monday 15 April). As well as the Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt over the bank holiday weekend, there’s a fantastic line up of activities running for the two weeks to keep all the family entertained come rain or shine. Romp through the gardens looking for signs of nature waking up from its winter slumbers. Can you find the baby animals as you go? Find a new trail through the gardens for the holidays.”
“Friday 19 – Monday 22 April. The popular Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt returns over the bank holiday weekend with a new trail to follow and a chocolatey treat for your efforts. As you hunt for clues, enjoy the gardens in all their springtime glory and look out for that cheeky Easter Bunny popping up behind the trees and bushes. Then take on the family with an egg and spoon race across the lawn. The trail sheet costs £2 with each one getting a Cadbury chocolate prize. Running 10.30am – 4pm.”
Entry costs – Entrance is free to National Trust members. An adult standard ticket costs £14.40 for the whole property and it’s £7.20 for a child.
Beverley Racecourse – Easter Family Raceday – East Riding

What’s on – 17th April “A spring afternoon of racing perfect for the whole family, the afternoon’s highlights include a chocolate egg decorating workshop with Butterfly Chocolates of Pocklington, as well as a magical Easter Egg Tree, hung with real chocolate eggs to pick. There’s also mini funfair rides, trampolines to bounce into spring and face painting. Under 18s go free and most of the fun is free too, so it really is the perfect day out this Easter. Gates open at 12 noon. Decorate your own egg with white chocolate, sprinkles, stars, and chocolate beans in our Easter chocolate workshop and more.”

What’s on – “Saturday 6 April – Sunday 28 April 2019. Hop through Strid Wood and keep your eyes peeled for our larger than life bunnies hiding in the trees. They shouldn’t be too hard to find with their brightly coloured coats on! The Easter Bunny will be in situ over the Easter weekend 19 April – 22 April. The Easter Trail will run every day from Saturday 6 April – Sunday 28 April. Collect your free trail form from the Riverside Car Park kiosk on arrival. Once you have completed the trail, hand your trail form into the Cavendish Shop (or to the Easter Bunny over Easter weekend) to be entered into our free prize draw to win a Bolton Abbey Season Ticket.”
Entry costs – They are yet to update their next season prices. However, over the winter it cost £10.00 to park a car. After that entry is free.

What’s on – Easter trail “From 6th April to 22nd April children are invited to take part in an Easter trail around the magnificent grounds of the Hall, solving clues while exploring the extensive gardens. Once the conundrum has been solved, every child will receive an Easter treat. There are puzzles to solve and games to play, while in the craft tent children can get creative with colouring. Excitingly, there is a giant golden egg to find, which the Easter Bunny has been hidden somewhere in the grounds!”
Easter Egg Hunt “Sunday 21st April and Monday 22nd April, 11am to 5pm. On Easter Sunday and Monday, children are invited to join the Easter Bunny and search for some of the many thousands of chocolate Easter eggs that are hidden in the Hall’s woodland.”

What’s on – “Egg-splore the Castle Howard grounds this Easter on an egg hunt like no other! The Castle Howard bunnies have lost their eggs around the grounds and we need your help to find them. Collect a price from the Boathouse once you have reunited the eggs with the bunnies! This trail, along with Castle Howard’s high-energy adventure playground, boat trips on the Great Lake (weather permitting), rides on the land train and delicious ice cream make for a great Easter day out! Included in standard admission. Don’t miss our Easter Weekend Fairground Rides! What’s on – “Budding buccaneers will want to have a go at the pirate-themed treasure trail egg hunt around the park over the Easter weekend – Friday 19th – Monday 22nd April. Follow the clues on the treasure map around the park to track down letters then spell out the word correctly to collect a chocolatey prize, but beware of the pesky pirates on the way who will be trying to guard their loot. There will be pirate-themed face painting over the Easter weekend too!” Plus much more.

What’s on – “Hop along to Mother Shipton’s during the Easter Holidays for a hoppingly fun time. Follow the trail and on your way, help Little Bo Peep find her sheep! You can also meet bunnies Betty and Clover and solve puzzles and clues for a chocolatey treat. The park will be transformed with props and actors, creating an engaging and interactive Easter event suitable for all the family. Every day from Monday 1st April to Sunday 28th April, open 10am to 5.30pm (last admission 4.30pm).”

“Giant forest egg hunt – Find our giant hand painted character eggs including a Humpty and Goldilocks! The Easter eggs are hidden around the Enchanted Forest. All you have to do is follow the clues, search the forest, work out the riddles and write it all down on your forest map. Throughout the whole of the Easter Adventure you can take part in the giant unique egg hunt around the Enchanted Forest with prizes up for grabs.”
