We were visiting Xscape to review the family sledging session at Snozone, Castleford in West Yorkshire. We were also invited to try a session at Volcano Falls adventure golf. This is located next to Snozone. It is indoors so perfect for a bad weather day.
This is part 2 of day 29 of our #80dayschallenge to have at least 80 days out in one year.
Volcano Falls Adventure Golf at Xscape
They have two 18 hole courses at Volcano falls. There is a T-Rex course and a Volcano falls course. The T-Rex course uses part of the ground floor and then moves upstairs. My son had a T-Rex top on when we visited so we tried the T-Rex course.
They have plenty of special offers on such as £10 for 2 senior citizens for 1 round of mini golf on Mondays and Tuesdays. Or 4 adventures for £25 which is 1 round of mini golf for 4 adults Monday to Fridays.
They have lots of different pricing options. A single course (18 holes) currently costs £7.50 for adults and children over 12 years old. Or £14.00 for both courses (36 holes). Children aged 6-11 years are £5.50 for 18 holes and children under 5 are £3.00 each. They have many other pricing options including a family ticket. You can also purchase a combo deal of 1 round of golf, 1 ride on the XD and a £5 fun station card for £12.99 per person. This is a really good offer.

The T-Rex adventure golf course is more a test of skill than getting around objects. Nearly all the 18 holes have a small slope to them. This makes more challenging than a lot of crazy golf courses that we have played.
The great thing about the course is the theming. They have gone to a lot of effort to make the course look fun. It feels like you are walking back in the time of the T-Rex with plants, boulders and even a T-Rex that moves and sounds very realistic. My son loved that there was also a thunder storm while we were playing. They have some really good sound affects. One thing we loved was a wall that lit up while we played. The course looked really new and clean.
It took us around 40 minutes to complete the 18 hole course with 2 adults and 1 child playing. Although the Volcano falls course is on one level I wouldn’t recommend taking a buggy with you. The space between the holes is tight and there isn’t really anywhere to put one. Luckily we didn’t get held up behind anyone and although there were people behind us they never had to wait for us for long so they were happy to stay behind.
