There is certainly a lot less on in 2020 than previous years for Halloween in the North East. That’s not to say that there’s nothing on though. I’ve found events in all of the counties and there are plenty of ideas to keep you busy during October half-term.

Adventure Valley – Pumpkin Festival – County Durham
FREE PUMPKIN WITH ENTRY – for every full paying child aged 2 and over. Treat the kids to an amazing autumn adventure!
Head over to the Pumpkin Barn and collect your pumpkin from our Pumpkin Patch, get creative with Pumpkin Carving (until 31st October), enjoy smashing fun with our Corn Cob Catapult, watch daily shows, and much more!

Belsay Hall Castle and Gardens – Spooky Belsay – Tyne & Wear
Gather your little monsters for a ghoulishly good day out at Belsay Hall this half term. Follow the trail to solve creepy clues and gather round to listen to spooky stories. There’s a frighteningly fun fancy dress competition every day – just come in your scariest outfits to be in with a chance of winning.English Heritage

Hall Hill Farm – Spooky Half-Term – County Durham
Are you brave enough to come to Hall Hill Farm between 24th October – 1st November for a ghoulishly-good time? There are lots of extra activities- including giant scarecrows, haunted Sheep Race, Mini Monster Maze, Trick or Treat treasure hunt, choose your pumpkin from the pumpkin patch, carve your lantern, and the Spooky Spider Barrel Train.

Halloween Events North East 2020
Raby Castle – Scaries and Fairies – County Durham
Blow away the cobwebs this half term on our family-friendly half-term trail in the Walled Gardens. Come and find the magical mythical creatures who have taken up residence in the gardens – who will you find? Dressing up is encouraged!
Free with general admission. The trail is aimed at younger children and is particularly suitable for children aged 11 and under.Raby Castle

When you have finished the trail make your way back to the creepy coachyard where we will have spooktacular snacks and hot drinks available to purchase.
Whitehouse Farm Centre – Halloween Spooktacular – Tyne & Wear
Every day in the Ghostly Grim Grotto attend Magic Merlin’s Spooktacular Show, YES Magic Steve is BACK with a Brand New Magic Show, Monster Mash Dance Off and Fancy Dress Competition (limited availability book your time-slot when you arrive at the entrance).
2020 will see our BIGGEST Pumpkin Patch yet, we are offering 1 free ticket per paying Child to attend Pumpkin Patch and pick your pumpkin to take home and carve. Additional pumpkins for children under 2 can be purchased for £2 at the main entrance or in the gift shop.
