What a busy summer we’ve had. I wanted to fit in as much as possible before Jamie started reception class at primary school. It proved to be a very busy holiday and I took over 1,000 photos! (plus countless deleted ones). Overall he had 6 weeks off plus his first week back has only been part-time. I have a feeling we won’t manage anywhere near this amount of photos in September. It breaks my heart that my sidekick isn’t going to be around as much now. I’m sat here writing whilst he’s at school for just two hours, I miss him like crazy. We have had so much fun though. Here is our summer of 2017 in photos. I hope you enjoy being nosy as much as we enjoyed making the following memories. I have so much content to now get on and write about!
Before the summer holidays started I made a little bucket list of things to do. It had 28 things to do on it. We managed to tick most of them off
July – Week 1
Bucket list #1 – Holiday by the seaside. We managed to tick this off twice when we stayed in Scarborough at the start of the holidays and then Hunstanton at the end.

Bucket list #22 – Play crazy golf = completed
Bucket list #20 – Go for a walk at a nature reserve = completed

Week 2

Bucket list #13 – Go on a boat ride = completed

Doddington Hall – A summer of Imagination – Family day out (review)
Week 3

Knights trail Lincoln – Follow the trail and collect your prize (review)

Bucket list #5 – Visit a castle = completed, something we managed to do twice.

Lincoln castle – Grand medieval joust – event review

Crich Tramway Village Derbyshire – No ordinary day out – 16 great things (review)

Week 4

Lincoln tourist Sightseeing bus – A great way to get around (review)
Bucket list #3 – Go on amusement rides (this was completed many times over, he loves rides!)

Bucket list #18 – Go to a historic house = completed twice

Bucket list #14 – Visit the farm = completed

Sacrewell Heritage Farm – Summer fun – A review
Bucket list #17 – Feed the ducks = completed (and Geese and Swans and Fish!)

Bucket list #6 – Watch a historical battle = completed

Bucket list #21 – See a theatre performance outdoors = completed (Sooty show counts right?)

Bucket list #2 – Eat fish and chips on the beach = completed (Well by the beach) We managed this on our day out to Mablethorpe.
Bucket list #27 – Ride on a donkey = completed
Week 5

Bucket list #28 – See a show (live concert) = completed

Bucket list #10 – Meet a character = completed

Week 6

Bucket list #9 – Make a meal together = completed. Jamie made pizza as part of a weekly activity at Searles leisure. We all tried some.
From our bucket list, we didn’t manage to go pond dipping, watch a film outdoors. The weather was so bad we didn’t swim in our local lido (we have managed a few visits this year). I totally failed on going to a festival or carnival this summer and that was something I really wanted us to do. A ride on a steam train never happened as it was shut on the day we went. Neither did we go on a teddy bear’s picnic or sit in a fire engine. All things for next summer.
I also didn’t manage to take any picnic photos but we did accomplish this. Ditto for picking fruit. He also played in a splash park but no photographs were allowed. We also went on a bike ride but I seem to have lost the photo!
And that concludes our summer of 2017 in photos. Now to get writing about it all.
