Planet Hollywood easily made it on to our family bucket list holiday to London. It’s a great Hollywood themed family-friendly restaurant. Not only is the food really good but you are guaranteed to have fun while you are there. Planet Hollywood is located close to Piccadily circus on Haymarket. The closest underground station is Piccadily circus at just 1 minute walk away. You can’t miss the restaurant from the outside! Make sure you pause before you go in for some selfies with a Power Ranger and the Terminator.

Planet Hollywood London Review
Before you enter the restaurant you are greeted by a member of staff at the door. Here you can reserve a table but it is recommended that you book in advance. Once inside there is a Planet Hollywood wall where you can also pose for photos. Inside the restaurant, they have photos of famous people that have also posed for photos here.

We had a booth right by one of the original Gremlins from Gremlins 2. I was obsessed with these films when I was young so it was literally the best table that we could have been sat at. The booths were comfy and could easily seat 6 if not more people.

There’s plenty of Hollywood film memorabilia around the restaurant. They even have a wall upstairs with famous actors handprints and you are encouraged to put your hands on them to see which actor has similar-sized hands. The only one close to my son’s hands was Demi Moore.

Kid’s Menu at Planet Hollywood London
The Kid’s menu comes on an activity sheet to keep them busy. For £9.95 they get a main dish, a dessert and a soft drink. This is for children aged 12 or under. There was a great choice with hot dog, pasta dishes, burger, chicken dishes and mac & cheese. The dessert is a choice of ice-cream. Jamie chose the chicken crunch. “Tender strips of chicken breaded with a sweet, crunchy coating served with fries or a garden salad.” He really enjoyed that and his dessert and loved the whole restaurant experience.

Adult Menu
There is a huge variety of choice for adults food and drink wise. I opted for one of their cocktails at £9.95. It was very good and lasted the meal.

They have some great sharing plates including nachos, a mixed platter, wings and pizza bread. Plus starters just for one such as shrimp, wings, skins and chicken. I had decided to go just with a main course so that I could enjoy a dessert so we didn’t get a chance to review any of the starters. From what we could see around the restaurant they did look good. The chicken crunch came in a fun chicken shaped basket.
The main dishes include a great selection of burgers including a veggie burger. I chose the mac attack at £16.50 for a classic 200g burger. “Planet Hollywood burger topped with hickory smoked bacon, five cheese mac ‘n cheese, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle and crispy onion straws.” It was so tasty, I can highly recommend this burger. It wasn’t as filling as it looks either.

Other main course options include steaks, fajitas, burritos, hot dogs, Asian food, pasta, salads and pizzas. My Mum chose an Asian dish the shrimp chow mein at £12.95. “Fresh chow mein noodles in a soy sauce with bean sprouts, carrots, red onions and spring onions”. She loved it and said it was very tasty. They have a choice of vegan and vegetarian dishes.

Choices for dessert included brownie, cheesecake, ice-cream dishes and more. I chose the White chocolate bread pudding at £7.50. “Homemade white chocolate bread pudding served warm with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and a bourbon sauce.” It was excellent!

For a bit of fun
The music at Planet Hollywood was excellent. They even have a DJ who displays personal messages to the people that you are with on the TVs in the restaurant. The lovely people at Planet Hollywood put up a personal message to us and we could choose to have one ourselves.
These are flashed up during some of the songs. Also during a couple of the more fun songs, the DJ also moves a camera around the room and you become the star of the restaurant. It’s up to you if you wave or dance about, we loved joining in and it made our 6-year-olds day when we kept seeing ourselves on the ‘big screen’. It really is a great place to visit with the family.
Thank you to Planet Hollywood for an enjoyable and very tasty dinner.
