Things to do February Half Term Lincolnshire 2020
When? Friday 14th – Sunday 23rd February Event – Half Term Fun About – Winter wildlife family trail – Pick up a wildlife trail and become a naturalist for the day. Trek the parkland route and discover what wildlife can be found at Belton over winter. Free badge for all great explorers. Plus arts and crafts, art adventures, ranger packs and more. read more….

When? From 12th February – 1st March Event – Snowdrops About – Over the past 15 years, 160,000 snowdrops, 45,000 crocus, winter irises, and a selection of other bulbs have been planted to create a ¼ mile winter walk leading through the garden and woodland. There are banks of willows, dogwoods and winter flowering shrubs, a grove of gleaming white Himalayan birch and pleached red-twigged limes to delight the visitor. Warm refreshments available.
When? Tuesday 18th February Event – Birdbox building and breakfast About – Celebrate National Bird Box Week with a morning of family bird box building with breakfast from the Visitor Centre. £12 per child, includes breakfast and all the materials. read more…..

When? Thursday 20th February Event – Love birds About – As part of National Nest Box week, come along and take part in our Love Birds event. Here you can provide a home and food, by building a bird box and creating a bird feeder to hang in your garden, which will help our native birds thrive during the cold spell! Diddy Disco Wednesday 19th February – The Drill Hall’s hip disco club for under 7s and their happening parents, mixing floor fillers from way back to the most recent top tunes.
Henry Moon & The Greasy Spoon Thursday 20th February – Join storytelling specialists, Rhubarb Theatre, for a huge spoonful of fun, a mug-full of fantasy and a platter of creativity. It is perfect for families that enjoy theatrical play, puppetry, mask, dance, song and lots of laughter.

When? Friday 14th to Sunday 23rd February Event Lambing Live – About – Some of the sheep that have been on the farm over the winter are expected to lamb in time for the February half term holidays. Other things to do
Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway – This is one of Britain’s oldest seaside miniature railways and has been delighting old and young alike for generations. Sit back and enjoy a two-mile return journey along the picturesque Humberside Coast, behind one of our historic steam or diesel locomotives.
Hall farm park – Indoor soft play area with extra fun things to do, indoor animal barn. Outdoors play areas, crazy golf, woodland walk, animals. There are toilets, a shop and a cafe. Not all facilities are things to do are available all year round. Plus goat walking, tractor rides and lamb feeding in season.
Lincoln Cathedral – Did you know they now have these great backpacks for kids that you can borrow for no extra cost during your visit? They have them for different age groups and my son loved the swan themed backback complete with cuddly swan, safari hat, binoculars, magnifying glass and a series of coloured panels. Plus booklets with a series of tasks and challenges
Lincolnshire aviation heritage centre – Exhibits some interactive, WWII memorabilia, Lancaster Bomber Just Jane, countless rooms and buildings with exhibits. Closed on Sundays.
Museum of Lincolnshire Life – Plenty of historically accurate rooms full of a great range of displays. Quirky playground, old shops, a schoolroom and more.
Rushmoor country park – Animals that you can feed, small playground, bird displays, small animal handling, pony rides.
Skegness Aquarium – It’s a lovely place to spend an hour or two but it is quite expensive considering the size. It is what you make it though and the more time you spend looking in the tanks and getting involved in crafts, talks and feeding times the more you will get out of a visit.
Springfields – JCB Young Drivers Zone, Treetop nets, Panning for gold, sand and water play, miniature railway, Dino golf.
Village church farm – This is a free attraction on the outskirts of Skegness. It is Lincolnshire’s only open air museum. There is plenty to see and do there and they hold some great events throughout most of the year. They have a collection of Lincolnshire buildings which include a Grade II Listed Georgian Farmhouse which is decorated and furnished to a Victorian era.
Whisby Nature park – Outdoor sand and water play, zip wire, climbing towers, walks around the lakes. Indoors wooden adventure play.
Woodside animal park – Tropical house, a wobbly bridge over crocodiles, unusual animal show, bird display, animal handling, tiger feeding, other interesting animals, small playground.
