When you think of Canada theme parks aren’t the first thing that comes to mind. In fact, for me, it’s the opposite as I think of expansive country parks with lakes, mountains and bears. Canada is actually home to some of the world’s best theme parks and I will list each of them below. Hopefully, this will help when you are planning trips to Canada. This list includes theme parks with water parks and/or rides.

Calaway Park, Calgary
About – Calaway Park is one of Canada’s biggest amusement parks. It has 32 family-friendly rides designed for thrill-seekers of all ages. They also have live shows, stilt performers, jugglers and clowns. It is free to park and you pay one fee to visit and ride the rides. It is located in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains so it has one of the best backdrops in the world.

Calypso Theme Waterpark, Ottawa
About – Calypso Waterpark is the biggest waterpark in Canada. It is outdoors and open over the summer. It features 5 slides, 100 water games and 2 theme rivers so there is something there for everyone. If you like wave pools you will be thrilled with the largest wave pool in the country. They also have play areas for young families plus an on-site restaurant.

Canada’s Wonderland, Ontario
About – Canada’s Wonderland is one of the countries premier theme parks. They have a great selection of thrill rides plus a kids area with 25 rides and attractions including meet and greets with Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the gang. There is also a 20-acre splash park with wave pools, slides, playgrounds, lazy river and more. They also have some great special events throughout the summer.

Fallsview Indoor Water park, Niagra Falls
About – Fallsview has 3 acres of ultimate water park fun. It also has an on-site hotel. Plus it’s just a two minute walk from Niagara Falls. There are 16 waterslides, a huge indoor wave pool, hot springs and outdoor sundeck with pool. Plus it’s indoors so it’s great in any weather.

About – Galaxyland is an indoor amusement park located in the West Edmonton Mall. They have a great selection of rides and attractions including a high ropes course, 7D theatre. There’s plenty for all ages with 27 rides.

La Ronde, Montreal
About – La Ronde has more than 40 rides and attractions. It has Le Monstre, the world’s highest double wooden roller coaster. There are more peaceful ride options such as a monorail and a Ferris wheel both providing great views of the river. The park is well known for its summer concerts and fireworks.

Magic Mountain Water Park, Moncton
About – Magic Mountain is a water park with 4 zones of fun including a wave pool and water slides. The park also has some amusement rides and 36 holes of mini-golf. They also have an amusement arcade.

Marineland, Niagara Falls
About – Marineland at Niagara Falls is not only an aquarium but it also has some rides, arcades, a zoo and a restaurant. You can see different shows by marine mammals and they have a pool where you can stroke Beluga whales. There’s a handy land train that can take you around the park and some great amusement rides for all the family.

Playland Amusement Park at the PNE, Vancouver
About – Playland has over 35 rides and attractions. It’s a great family-friendly day out with plenty for all. It has a really big wooden coaster plus mini-golf and more. It is the oldest amusement park in Canada.

Sandspit Amusement Park, Cavendish Beach
About – Sandspit Cavendish Beach is an amusement park with a range of rides, including a roller coaster & bumper boats, plus go-karts. They have classic thrill rides, family rides and rides just for kids.

Santa’s Village, Bracebridge
About – Santa’s Village is a seasonal Christmas-themed amusement park with a petting zoo, splash pad, rides & visits with Santa. It is 60 acres of family fun with a great Christmas theme. There is also a zip line and aerial park next door. Plus sportsland with immersive games, go-karts, bungee trampoline, batting cages, laser tag, climbing wall and more!

Upper Clements Amusement Park, Nova Scotia
About – Upper Clements is composed of two parks; Upper Clements Theme Park and Upper Clements Adventure Park. The two parks are open over the summer months. The amusement park has a good selection of rides for all. The Adventure Park has a treetop course that includes zip lines that extend over 1,000 feet with 43 stations of elevated bridges and challenging courses in a natural setting.
