We were recently sent three pieces of clothing, for Jamie to try and for me to review. They are from a Swedish kids and womens clothing company called me&i.
me&i was founded back in 2004 and makes clothes with a unique design, soft feel and comfortable fit. The clothes are manufactured in a responsible manner in Portugal and Turkey. They have recently launched an exciting autumnal range of clothing.
It’s not just my opinion that counts here. Jamie is four now and is more than entitled to his own opinion. He was very excited when we opened the package and he saw the bright and fun prints of the two tops. We both soon realised just how soft they are. As soon as he pulled the top over his head he was telling me how soft it felt.
I was concerned the softness would fade. However, the two tops and the leggings have all been washed a couple of times now and they still feel first wear fresh and soft. The bonus for kids wear is that the material feels strong and durable. The material is slightly stretchy and moves well with my active boy.
Confession: I am not the best person in the world at washing clothes. Clothes get washed at 40oC regardless of the label. Although the material is soft the clothes can be washed at 40oC, bonus. I was concerned the bright colours would come out in the wash but they haven’t done.
What are Jamie’s tops made from? They are 95% cotton and 5% elastane. They recommend to wash inside out, iron inside out and stretch when wet. The clothing can’t be tumble dried but to be honest with you I wouldn’t want to. They dry out really quickly.
They have so many cute designs that it was a tough job choosing.
Jamie adores motorcycles, although if he thinks he’s ever riding on one he’s got another thing coming! I loved the colour of this top as he really suits blue so this was an easier choice to make.
The top costs £20.95 and comes in 6 different sizes. 2-4, 4-6, 6-8, 8-10, 10-12 and 12-14 years. The sizings are different in Sweden but they provide a handy guide so you can’t go wrong choosing the size you want. I went for a 110/116 which is a 4-6. This is a perfect fit for Jamie. I love the long sleeves with the double fabric cuffs. It’s great for turning the sleeves up, if needs be. The colours and design look great on him. I had a lady stop and ask me where his top was from when he wore it out one day.
This is made of the same material as the top above. It also benefits from lovely and long double fabric sleeves. Currently they only have ages 6-8 and 8-10 in stock. Jamie is wearing 4-6 years. I love the length of these tops. Jamie has such a long body and it can be hard to find tops long enough to grow with him. This top is also £20.95.
They have some really gorgeous print leggings for girls on their site. As much as I’d have loved them I doubt it would have gone down well with Jamie. He suits black for trousers and he is more of a fan of jogging bottoms than jeans etc. So these slim sweatpants are ideal for him.
They are £22.95 and are made from 96% organic cotton and 4% elastane. They have two handy back pockets, an adjustable waist and a reinforced knee. Ideal for boys like Jamie! He is wearing an age 4-6 and the sizing is spot on for him. They can be washed at 40oC and they are fine for the tumble drier. (wellies are Jamie’s own)!
Yes these clothes are more money than I would normally spend on Jamie for clothing. However, they are clearly going to be worth that money. All items are lovely and soft and clearly durable. They have been designed with longevity in mind. That’s not just the length and fit but the materials used. Plus I have never seen such unique designs. I have to say that these are the loveliest clothes we’ve ever owned for him.
me&i also have a range of women’s clothing.
