So why is this car seat so great?

It’s Perfect for many different situations, especially travel

The Mifold booster seat is perfect for life on the go, especially when travelling abroad. I don’t know about you but I worry myself silly about renting a car seat abroad. The past couple of times I have tried to rent a car seat with a back and instead have been given a regular booster seat. They have been filthy and the seat belt has worryingly rested on Jamie’s neck. Not to mention the cost. We are off to Florida in January and to rent a booster seat for our stay it would cost over £60. Taking this lightweight and compact seat with us, that retails at just RRP £49.95, we not only save money but have a product that we can use many times over again.

It will also be perfect for car pooling, taking on taxi journeys and handing to the Grandparents on their next child sitting mission. While it will not replace our high back car seat it will be perfect for when we don’t have this option available.

They take up less space

You can also easily fit three of these booster seats across the back of your car. The design only works with a 3 point lap and diagonal seat belt. It must not be used with a 2 point lap belt.

It fits better across the child

With a regular booster seat the seat belt often rests on the child’s neck and across their stomach. Instead of boosting the child up the Mifold holds the seat belt just above their shoulder and safely across their lap and hip bones. With three different sizes on the seat and a fully adjustable shoulder strap the seat can adjust to the size of your child. Perfect for if a friend is visiting and you want to use the same car.

Safer fit across your child

Is it safe and does it meet car seat regulations?

Absolutely. “The Mifold is designed to conform to EU regulations R44.4 and to exceed US regulations FMVSS 213 in line with IIHS Booster Belt Fit Rating and the Safety Belt Safe booster use guidelines.

It is made of strong metal chassis of 6061 aircraft grade aluminium (as strong as steel) and Dupont™ Delrin® 100ST a super tough plastic polymer for superior impact resistance.”

How portable is it?

The Mifold weighs just 1.6lb (750g) which is the same weight as a small bottle of water. It’s so compact that it actually fits into my handbag and it fits really well into our backpack for days out. You can see just how small it is compared to Jamie in this photo below.

The Mifold is incredibly compact

How easy is it to use?

The Mifold is incredibly easy to use. You simply fold the Mifold seat open. Then place it up against the car seat back and hold down while the child sits on the seat. It’s so easy to attach the seat belt that your child could do it. The seat belt simply loops through both of the red gauges and into the seat belt clip. Then the shoulder strap clips onto the longer length of the seat belt, just above their shoulder. It literally took me under a minute to get him into his seat the first time and less than 30 seconds after that. It is essential to check that the seat belt isn’t twisted in any way. There is a really good user manual with the seat which you must read before installation. It comes in 6 different languages.

There is also a really good installation video that I recommend you watch.

Other great features

The seat is made of a foam padding technology that provides comfort and that stays cool, even on hot days. It’s also super easy to clean which is perfect for any child I’m sure. You can simply wipe down with a mild solution of soap and water and then air dry.

    1. I would love to win a pink one for my little granddaughter as I don’t drive and my friends always have to borrow a car seat when we go anywhere so this would be ideal.

  1. I like the blue for my son. Would come in handy when share car lifts with school children instead of taking a bulky seat and when I look after my grandson

  2. Green would be just perfect for our trip to Scotland – it’s a long drive and this would be great for my little boy!

  3. I would like the blue one. I don’t drive and sometimes I have to refuse lifts from other people if they don’t have a car seat. If I carried the Mifold with me, this wouldn’t be a problem.

  4. I would like the car seat in slate grey for using in our hire car on our next holiday abroad, they are sooo portable

  5. I would love to win a blue one please. It would be great to keep in the house for when we need to nip out in Grandads car. Or for giving another child a lift home after swimming or jujitsu

  6. I would like a pink one please. I would use it on the days that Grandad decides to take my daughter out while I’m at work with her normal seat in my car.

  7. I would love it in slate grey. I regularly look after my youngest Grandson aged 5 so this would be useful for our regular days out and our annual holiday

  8. I’d love to win this! I have a 4 year old boy and a girl on the way.
We’re always travelling, especially to Asia, and this will come in so handy wherever we go!
Would love to have the slate grey please!

  9. I love the blue as it’s my daughter’s favourite colour. This would be really handy for grandparents and going abroad

  10. I would choose slate grey and it would be used for when nieces and daughter friends sleepover, I always have to lend their own seats which is a pain

  11. I would like the pink one to keep at my daughter’s Out of School Care, in case any friend or family member has to collect her at the last minute/unexpectedly, which happens fairly often! Absolutely ideal. Thank you for the competition.

  12. I would like a blue one for my little niece who’s favourite colour is blue to take her to our static caravan in Wales

  13. Slate grey, and it would be for general use so as to ensure safety. As there can be occasions when child is cared for by relative. So could be used in relatives car, or taxi as / when required. Child safety is a priority.

  14. I would love to win the blue for our Christmas eve car ride to wales for our family do. It’s a 3.5 hour drive and we have 3 car seats in the car so pretty squashed lol!

  15. This would be great for our trip to the far east. It looks easy enough to set up in a rental car or taxi. I like the yellow because it’s bright and easy to locate quickly.

  16. I would love in any colour and would use it all the time, I have 3 children and because of the new regulations they all need to be in booster seats which makes it so cramped in the back as they are so bulky, these are perfect as they are so compact, am so glad I have seen this, thank you

  17. I would love this in slate grey and would be ideal for travel down to my brothers in London when I
often take the plane and have to lug the car seat

  18. I would like to win the blue seat (its my favourite colour) and would use it for my school runs for my grandchildren

  19. I would like this in blue please. I would use this on our holiday in France next year and also when we are getting a lift somewhere with friends.
