Things to do at Buckinghamshire Railway Centre review
Buckinghamshire Railway Centre is a railway museum near Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire. The site is 25 acres in size and is divided by two halves. Each side has a demonstration line with various workshop and museum buildings. They are home to one of the largest collections of steam locomotives and other railway vehicles in the UK.
They host many special events at the railway including Day Out with Thomas and Santa trains. You can ride on one of their trains on their special steaming days which are fun for all the family. You can ride on a full-size steam train. For a small fee there is also a miniature ride-on steam train which you can take a ride on.
Inside the visitor centre are some historic coaches including a Royal Dining coach and one used by Winston Churchill and Dwight D Eisenhower for their secret war strategy meetings. There are many exhitibts within the hall, there’s even a travelling post office where you can have a go at sorting the mail. Please note prices are lower on their static viewing days due to no train rides running, do check ahead to see what is on.
