Things to do at Hamerton Zoo review

Hamerton Zoo is located just out of Peterborough in a small village called Sawtry. It is home to a large variety of animals ranging from birds to lemurs to Cheetahs and Tigers. Hamerton Zoo is run completely on renewable energy from their very own solar panels and wind turbines.

As well as the variety of different animals there is also the Stroll-a-Safari where you can get up close to chickens and goats. There is a 20p machine within the enclosure where you can purchase animal feed. There is also a land train which costs £2.50 per person and takes you on a ride around the zoo.

The new outback aviary is a wonderful addition, you can stroll through aviary to see the different variety of small birds, there are hundreds of them! The Land of the Tiger is another wonderful enclosure. You can travel into their enclosure through the tunnels to try and catch a glimpse of the Malaysian and Bengal (White) tigers currently residing at the zoo.

Hamerton Zoo is always being developed and upgraded with new enclosures and upgrades. It is one of the few places you can visit and see where the entrance costs are being used. On comparison to other Zoo’s it is smaller, however, the variety of animals makes it all worthwhile. When visiting don’t forget to check out the donkeys and zebras in their enclosures beside the carpark. There is also a play area at the zoo.

Covid 19: Due to current restrictions not everything will be open, or it may be open differently to normal, at the attraction that you are visiting. Please consult their social media accounts, give them a call or visit their website if you can’t find the information you are looking for.
