Things to do at Sacrewell Farm review
Sacrewell farm is a heritage farm with a restored windmill. It is located near Peterborough and just off the A1. We have visited a few times and usually spend a few hours there.
They have animals in a paddock which you can sometimes purchase food for out of a dispensing machine. Also outdoors they have a small play area, sandpit and a tractor that kids can climb on. There is also a mini maze.
Make sure you book a tractor ride. It costs an extra £1 each in winter and £1.50 each in the summer but lasts around 20 minutes. They often have events on during school holidays which means even more things to do there such as sheep racing, bug hunt trails, Santa and more.
There is an old but restored watermill that you can look around. There are 3 floors to explore with exhibitions and all the old machinery is still there. Near the play barn, you will find an animal village with plenty of guinea pigs and rabbits. Here you can feed and pet the animals during one of their pet experience sessions.
Indoors there is a huge soft play with plenty for kids to play on. There’s also a kiosk in here and plenty of seating. There’s a large section for toddlers and an even bigger area for bigger kids.
Eating – There is a kiosk in the play barn serving hot and cold drinks plus limited cold food and snacks. They also have a relatively large cafe by the entrance which sells hot and cold food and drinks. You are welcome to picnic outside and there’s a nice picnic area behind the mill by a pond.
Facilities in brief – Animals that you can pet and sometimes feed, a restored watermill with 3 floors to explore, play area with a maze, sandpit and more. Huge indoor soft play with something for everyone. There are toilets, a kiosk and a cafe.
Entry price – *Mid-range to cheap
*Prices are subject to change and/or discounts online. *Mid-range to cheap. They have summer and winter admission prices and certain events cost a small amount more. It’s usually around £8.50 an adult and £7.50 for a child but prices do vary. Under 2’s are free. You can also camp at Sacrewell.
