Things to do at Shepreth Wildlife Park review
Shepreth Wildlife Park is a small zoo located near Cambridge. It’s easy to get around with small children and has some fascinating animals to spot. The red panda, bats, birds of prey and tigers are all stars of the zoo. The red panda feeds are really informative, and the zoo’s two pandas are active and curious.
The zoo grows some of its own bamboo which you can walk around too. In the Nocturnal House bats are free to fly over your head. It is always fun to get so close to bats. We also had animals flying close over our heads during the Bird of Prey show. The big cats are accessible at Shepreth as they can be viewed from platforms.
We also loved the African Sands House, the Tropical House and the Hidden Treasures. The African Sands House had fantastic educational displays that accompanied the tortoises and aviary. These were uniquely interactive. The tropical house was fun to walk around. Our favourites here were the caiman and the pangolin. The Hidden Treasures bughouse is a cleverly decorated room that houses the minibeasts.
Shepreth is not a large animal park with lots of big popular animals. It is a pleasant zoo to walk around, and it has plenty to see and do. It is an enjoyable day out. There is a large outside playground and 2 indoor soft plays plus a safari train ride in fair weather.
Eating – There is a cafe on-site. You are welcome to picnic outside.
