Things to do at Diggerland Durham review
Diggerland Durham is situated on an industrial estate in the village of Langley Park which is a 15 minute drive from Durham City. There is ample free parking outside and it is only a short walk from a regular, major bus route. Although the Diggerland site looks quite small it is still somewhere you can easily spend half a day or more.
Diggerland is suitable for the whole family but children over 90cms tall will get the most from the day as they will be able to access more of the activities. Younger children are free to enter but are quite limited as to what they can use and go on.
Diggerland Durham is home to lots of digger related fun that both adults and children can enjoy. All of the activities have a handy explanation board in front of them, giving information about the machinery that is used, how much it costs and the age that is suitable for. A quick scan of the board means you don’t have to stand and queue unnecessarily if you’re unable to ride.
The Skyshuttle will slowly raise you an eye-watering 50 feet up in the air, you can drive JCB Skid Steer Loaders around a bumpy, muddy track, hook a duck using a compact mini-excavator on the Dippy Ducks ride, or sit back an enjoy a Jeep Safari ride through the woods if you want someone else to do the hard work.
The majority of the activities are outdoors at Diggerland so it’s definitely more suited to sunnier weather. There is an indoor area which is home to the cafe, a well-sized soft play area, various indoor games and a space which can be hired out for birthday parties but if the weather is wet this space can become busy very quickly.
Covid 19: Due to current restrictions not everything will be open, or it may be open differently to normal, at the attraction that you are visiting. Please consult their social media accounts, give them a call or visit their website if you can’t find the information you are looking for.
