Things to do at The Tank Museum review
The Tank Museum is the world’s finest collection of tanks in Bovington, Dorset. It brings the story of tanks and their crews to life with awe-inspiring modern exhibitions.
The museum is home to around 300 military vehicles which represent the key battles of every major conflict since the First World War. Their exhibitions tell the story of this British invention from the Somme to the beaches of Normandy and the deserts of Iraq. Although it may not sound like a lot the museum recommends a visit time of 4-5 hours. There are 12 exhibitions in total.
There are plenty of interactive games throughout the exhibitions. Younger kids will find jigsaws, play tables and reading corners. There is a trail for 5-12-year-olds, they can dress up or enjoy other interactive activities. In the school holidays, they can experience the thrill of a vehicle ride. There are indoor and outdoor play areas. They also host a range of yearly events some of which you can see tank displays.
