Things to do at Allerthorpe Lakeland review
Allerthorpe Lakeland is a watersports centre with lakes in Pocklington, East Yorkshire. Even if you don’t fancy partaking in any watersports it’s a beautiful place to go for a walk and there’s even more to Allerthorpe than you may think.
For those that want to join in with some watersports, there is plenty on offer, although not everything is available over autumn and winter. There are canoes, open water swimming sessions, pedalos, an inflatable aquapark, boats, Canadian catamarans, kayaks, stand up paddleboards and more.
When you book your visit make sure you book what activities you also want to take part in. Most things can be booked for an hour although you can book a boat for two hours. Everyone is given a life jacket and although they do usually have changing rooms and wetsuit hire they didn’t during 2020.
There are two play areas at Allerthorpe Lakeland. There is a large playground next to the cafe and welcome centre. Then if you head left around the lake you come to another smaller play area. I can highly recommend walking around their lakes. They are very pretty and you may even find some animals along the way. You can also fish on one of their lakes.
The watersports lake also has two roped off paddling areas with a small sandy beach. This is a great place for kids to paddle and even swim. There’s a big grassed area by both sections so you can take picnic blankets while your kids (and you) play. You can purchase fish food for 50p a tub and feed the hungry fish over the decking, next to the cafe.
Covid 19: Due to current restrictions not everything will be open, or it may be open differently to normal, at the attraction that you are visiting. Please consult their social media accounts, give them a call or visit their website if you can’t find the information you are looking for.
