Brockhampton Estate is National Trust property near Bromyard. The properties land is still used today for farming. Brockhampton is an ancient estate nestled in the dramatic Herefordshire hills.
The estate has been used since the early Middle Ages. Today it features a wealth of interesting features such as a Norman Chapel and a medieval manor house. The manor house has a filled moat and even a drawbridge. You can explore the house and there are trails and activity packs to keep the little ones interested.
The estate itself is a beautiful place to walk around. They have several way-marked walks which lead through dingles, woodland, orchards and streams. The longer walk takes around two and a half hours and involves some steep climbs. The woodland 2-mile trail is great for families, other walks are also listed on their website.
There is a natural play area down at Lower Brockhampton with lots to do for all ages. It’s great fun with lots to climb on plus a rope on a slope, climbing logs, den building area and a giant wooden xylophone. Throughout the year they host many family-friendly events.
