Things to do at IWM North review
The IWM North, short for Imperial War Museum, is a large museum overlooking the water in Stretford, Greater Manchester. In the museum, you will walk through a timeline of history from the First World War to the present day in the main exhibition space.
Exhibits in the main space include Tolkien’s First World War revolver that fired the first British shots in 1914. Plus a seven-metre piece of twisted steel from the World Trade centre. War is explored in a unique and diverse way.
The Big Picture Show exhibition immerses you in a series of 360 surround sound projection. The images reflect the effects of war and also immerses you in the heart of the action. At the museum, you can discover the forgotten histories of service personnel and civilians who came to Britain during WWII. Other permanent exhibitions include Reactions with high-quality artwork. Mixing it – the changing faces of wartime Britain.
