Things to do at Cobtree Manor Park review

Cobtree Manor Park is a country park in Aylesford, Kent. It features a great playground, picnic areas, wooded paths, green spaces, a cafe and a sculpture trail.

The Zoo play park opened in 2013 and was designed by Eibe, the unique play area is inspired by the old Maidstone Zoo that used to occupy this area of the park. It is a large adventure play fort with climbing areas, rope bridges, slides, swings and more. There is a second play area in the lower area of the park with a ‘dragon’ swing and double zip wire. There is also plenty of natural play with logs to balance on in the woodland walk and den building.

The sculptor trail was opened in 2012 with sculptors from Jason Mulligan, a local artist. The sculptors tell the story of the history of the park. There is a 5km signed run trail around the park which you can also walk. There is also a self-guided trail around the arboretum which takes around an hour to walk. Make sure you check out the visitor centre as there are a series of panels telling the story of the zoo and of the park.

There are a number of heritage features that can be found in the park. These include the Llama house which was once home to a herd of Llamas, a sheep wash, and the site of a rediffusion radio station. Plus the Elephant house which is the only complete structure that remains from the zoo and more.

Covid 19: Due to current restrictions not everything will be open, or it may be open differently to normal, at the attraction that you are visiting. Please consult their social media accounts, give them a call or visit their website if you can’t find the information you are looking for.
