Penshurst Place is a stately home set within 11 acres of formal gardens near Tonbridge in Kent. Parts of the house and gardens are open to visitors. The original manor medieval manor house is one of the most complete surviving examples of 14th-century domestic architecture in England. Many TV shows and movies have been filmed at Penshurst Place.
As well as being able to explore parts of the historic house there is plenty more to explore outdoors. As well as the 11 acre Grade I listed formal gardens there are a further 37 acres. You can enjoy a walk around the estate with two walking trails. If you want to explore further you can also hire bikes.
There is a wooden adventure playground with swings, balancing bars, climbing nets, slides, and climbing frames. There is also a 1km loop walk along a woodland trail. There is lots to discover along the way including opportunities to build a den. Kids can have a go at crafts in the Old Coach House and there is a toy museum with a trail for children. They also have a maize maze over the summer months.
