Things to do at Riverhill Himalayan Gardens review
Riverhill Himalayans Gardens really is a hidden gem in Sevenoaks. Just outside Sevenoaks town centre it is open from March to November but please check their website for times and dates as they change with the seasons.
You can spend a couple of hours or take a picnic and explore all day. We often pop there for a couple of hours on a Sunday afternoon. There is ample free parking, albeit on a steep hill, with disabled parking level with the house. On entry, there is a hut where you buy your tickets, and just behind that is the lovely tearoom with seating both inside and out. This gets very busy in the warmer months.
Next to the tearoom is the toy shed with plenty to keep younger children occupied including ride on toys. In the garden itself, there are different areas, sculptures and water features to find along with its famous yeti who hides up in the woods – this is a steep, off-the-beaten-track climb but well worth it for the kid’s faces.
Riverhill has a fantastic playground with a death-defying slide more suited to older children (but toddlers seem to love it too), along with a smaller slide, playhouse, climbing frame and a maze! Each season brings a different feel to Riverhill. Famous for its rhododendrons and bluebells in the spring, the amazing scent from the rose garden in the Summer and the gorgeous colours of autumn along with lots of sweet chestnuts.
Covid 19 – Please check the website or social media of an attraction before visiting. Many places may be open differently and some remain closed. Reviews do not mention all of these changes or possible price changes. Most places now require you to pre-book online in advance.
