Things to do at Altitude44 review
Altitude44 is a relatively new high ropes course in the heart of Skegness, Lincolnshire. Making it the UK’s highest urban adventure. It features a main course, a junior course and a drop!
The main aerial course features 44 different obstacles and reaches heights of 21 metres in the air. It has 4 levels and to use the main course you need to be over the age of 6 and 1.2m tall. Those between 1.2m-1.4m or under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult at all times on the course. Before you start the course you are fitted with safety equipment and given a full briefing.
Features of the course include a fisherman’s net, a plane, a surfboard, boat, rescue rings, a bicycle and even a deckchair. They’ve certainly taken their seaside location and ran with it. Sessions last for 90 minutes including 15 minutes for the harness and briefing.
The Drop is the quickest way to get back down from the top of the course. Do you dare take on the challenge? Don’t worry though as there will be an instructor checking everything is set and safe. The drop is an additional cost.
The junior course is much lower down to the ground and features 9 different obstacles. Kids are harnessed up and attached via a continuous belay system. Children must be between 1m-1.4m and between 3 to 8 years old. They must be accompanied by an adult at all time (on the ground). The session lasts for 45 minutes including 15 minutes for the harness etc.
