Things to do at Easton Walled Gardens review
Near to Grantham in Lincolnshire, you will find the beautiful Easton Walled Gardens. You can explore the Easton estate and the walled gardens that have been 450 years in the making. If you time your visit right you can see all their stunning snowdrops or their beautiful sweet peas.
The gardens are over 12 acres and are exceptionally well maintained. President Franklin D Roosevelt once visited the gardens and wrote home to his mother to tell her that the gardens were “A dream of Nirvana…almost too good to be true”. Sadly the house itself was demolished after WWII and the gardens were forgotten for 50 years. They have since been lovingly restored to their former glory.
There is a pretty bridge perfect for playing pooh sticks. Kids will love being able to stretch their legs and there are plenty of places for a spot of hide and seek. The gardens feature several different types and the clear favourite is the amazing variety of 100 sweet peas. Plus a rose garden, vegetable gardens, a turf maze, yew tunnel and more. Also at the gardens, there is a woodland walk.
Snowdrop season is usually mid-February. They plan to open on Friday the 12th February 2021. They also host a variety of events throughout the year.
Covid 19: Due to current restrictions not everything will be open, or it may be open differently to normal, at the attraction that you are visiting. Please consult their social media accounts, give them a call or visit their website if you can’t find the information you are looking for.
