Things to do at Messingham Zoo review
Messingham zoo is a small family fun zoo with their primary aim being to offer something different to larger zoos and wildlife parks by focussing on close-up encounters with smaller, friendlier animals. Education is a big part of what they deliver and they want to teach families about animal care and welfare.
The zoo is still being established but most of their animals are now on display. They are adding all the time though. Animals include meerkats, prairie dogs, raccoons, arctic fox, porcupines and skunks. Plus emu, wallabies, tortoise, coati, giant rabbits and more. Soon they will be offering photographs with some of their animals as a memento of the day in a purpose-built photographic studio (additional cost).
They also offer animal experiences at an additional cost. These range in price from £25 for half an hour with one animal to 2 animals for an hour at £45. Please see their Facebook page for available packages. They can also host children’s parties starting at £10 a head.
There is a relatively new small play area with sandpits, an assault course and a mini castle.
Covid 19 – Please check the website or social media of an attraction before visiting. Many places may be open differently and some remain closed. Reviews do not mention all of these changes or possible price changes. Most places now require you to pre-book online in advance.
