The North Lincolnshire Museum is located in the heart of Scunthorpe. It is a great family-friendly museum. It features a range of permanent galleries and also a changing exhibition gallery. They also have craft activities for the kids during weekends and the school holidays. The museum offers a history experience for all the family through its award-winning collections and their interactive displays.
Their interactive hands-on galleries will take you back through time. Galleries include Steel town, Jurassic sea, Ironstone cottage. people’s war and local history. Plus post-war and archaeology collections and exhibits.
You can get hands-on with things like fossils, birds and animals. You can also pick up a leaflet for one of their fun free trails around the museum. This is a great way of getting the kids to truly explore the museum. The people’s war exhibit even has convincing wartime sounds effects. Kids can take part in games and dressing up as well as the organised art sessions and holiday activities.
