Things to do at Saltfleetby Theddlethorpe Dunes National Nature Reserve review
This is an important nature reserve that contains tidal sand and mudflats, salt and freshwater marshes and sand dunes. It’s a really beautiful place to go for a walk or spend some time on the beach. You will feel miles from anywhere.
The reserve covers a massive 951 hectares and there is parking at several entrances. You may come across grazing sheep or cattle. Most of the reserve is open to the public and you are requested to keep out of the signed sanctuary areas. There are various routes including an easy access trail with display boards through Rimac.
If you visit when the tide is out there is plenty of sandby beach to explore. Make sure you don’t sit too close to the shoreline as the beach is so big you could end up on an island as the tide comes back in. The tide never fully comes in but you could easily get stranded. Due to a lot of the places being quite marshy it is recommended that you wear boots and stick to the walkways.
Covid 19: Due to current restrictions not everything will be open, or it may be open differently to normal, at the attraction that you are visiting. Please consult their social media accounts, give them a call or visit their website if you can’t find the information you are looking for.
