Things to do at Skegness Beach review
The central beach at Skegness in Lincolnshire is vast. It’s one of the biggest sandy beaches in the UK and made even bigger when the tide is out. In fact, even when the tide is in there is still plenty of sand. There is also plenty of parking close to the beach which is good as it can get very busy.
The major bonus of Skegness beach is all the facilities just a short walk away. There are some public toilets very close to the main entrance to the beach plus plenty of seaside treats sold from various kiosks including hot fresh doughnuts, seafood, candyfloss, ice-cream and slush drinks. There are also donkey rides on the beach during the warmer months plus a wooden pier that is free to visit.
Just a short walk from here you will also find plenty of rides, a boating lake, a free and excellent paddling pool (Fairy Dell) and an aquarium. Then a little further on there’s crazy golf, amusements galore, soft play, bowling alleys and so much more. It’s a great family-friendly destination not just for the day!
Skegness central beach is a clean beach which has won awards for its clean water and there is a life guard during the warmer months. You can also walk on the beach for miles if you fancy it. Skegness was actually one of the UK’s first seaside resorts.
