Things to do at Whisby Nature Park – The Natural World Centre review
Whisby nature park is located just south of Lincoln in Lincolnshire. It is free to use the facilities at Whisby natural world centre, you only have to pay a small fee to park. This is a great place to spend a couple of hours or more.
Outside they have a sandpit play area with buckets, pulleys and a digger. A little further down from here there is a water play area with dams and trays. It’s great for teaching kids how water moves and how to release it into different areas. For older kids, there is a long zip wire and a series of climbing towers and tunnels.
There are 6 walks around the lakes. They are perfect for families as they are all between 1.3 and 2.8 miles long. All paths are accessible and colour coded so you can follow the coloured arrows for your chosen route. You can pick up a map, free of charge, this will help you find bird hides along the route. The lakes are a haven for wild birds, especially water-loving birds as most of the paths run alongside their lakes.
Indoors in the centre, there is a cafe and also a lovely adventure playground for the kids. Make sure you pick up a token for your kids to play for an hour. Most of the play equipment is made of wood. There’s a couple of slides and things to climb and play on. Adults can pick up a snack or hot and cold drink from here while they wait.
Covid 19 – Please check the website or social media of an attraction before visiting. Many places may be open differently and some remain closed. Reviews do not mention all of these changes or possible price changes. Most places now require you to pre-book online in advance.
