Things to do at Chessington World of Adventures Resort review
Chessington World of Adventures is described as being ‘Britain’s wildest adventure’. Chessington is a family theme park, zoo and hotel complex all rolled into one. Chessington is aimed at families with more gentle rides and family fun than big thrills – although there are a few of those dotted around too. There is also a small Sealife aquarium located within the park to enjoy.
Chessington World of Adventures has over 40 rides and attractions split across 7 ‘lands’. Everything in the park is within easy walking distance. For little ones, there are rides such as The Gruffalo River Ride Adventure and Room on the Broom (both based on the well-loved children’s books by Julia Donaldson), a beautiful animal-themed carousel, and even a soft play to enjoy.
Once your child reaches the magical 0.9 metres mark, a whole selection of rides open up to your family. With bigger thrills such as The Scorpion Express rollercoaster, a jungle themed mini log flume and the dodgems being just a few on offer. For older thrill seekers you won’t want to miss the two big rollercoasters – Vampire and Dragon’s Fury!
The zoo and aquarium are home to over 1,000 animals, including lions, tigers, gorillas, monkeys, penguins and plenty of underwater creatures. These are great to explore when ride times are long or you just want a more gentle paced day. There are usually animal feeds and shows throughout the day too. Entry to both of these are included within your entry ticket.
Covid 19: Due to current restrictions not everything will be open, or it may be open differently to normal, at the attraction that you are visiting. Please consult their social media accounts, give them a call or visit their website if you can’t find the information you are looking for.
