Things to do at Wroxham Barns review
Wroxham Barns provides a nice mix of activities suitable for both young children and adults, with a junior farm to walk around and shops to browse. The farm has all the animals that you would expect to see and interact with – pigs, sheep, donkeys, goats, alpacas, chickens, guinea pigs and rabbits.
Our visit coincided with ‘lambing live’. We didn’t see a lamb being born (some visitors do), but there were several that were only days old, and happy to be stroked. The boys loved feeding the chickens and ducks (you can buy bird or animal feed for 80p a bag), and the guinea pig holding session reignited the desire for a pet! There are hygiene stations across the farm with hand-washing facilities.
There are activities to keep the kids entertained – a craft shed, an area with ride-on tractors, a show to watch and an indoor play area (it isn’t large but it does provide some shelter if the weather isn’t on your side!) It’s worth noting that most of these are suited best to children aged 2-5.
Once you have finished at the farm, you can visit the shopping area at no cost. There is a broad range of things for sale, mostly made by local artisans – cider (yes you can have a free taste!), fudge, woodcraft, a pottery painting workshop, crafts and more. There are also a couple of options for food.
For a small additional cost for children, there is a fun park with slides, rides and mini-golf.
