Things to do at Brimham Rocks review

Brimham Rocks is an amazing collection of natural rock formations in Nidderdale North Yorkshire. The rocks were formed millions of years ago. They were created in a braided river system which then lifted up as the Pennines formed.

The rocks now sit high up on a hill and the weather up there can be a lot cooler so dress appropriately and make sure you were some decent shoes as you are allowed to climb on the rocks. It is free to visit Brimham Rocks but non-members of the National Trust do have to pay a small parking charge.

Also, make sure that you pick up a map of the site from the information centre in the car park. This will help you to locate the more interesting rock formations. The site is run by the National Trust and there is a large (and very busy) car park.

Most of the formations have been named after things they look like such as dancing bear, eagle and the Druid’s writing desk (recently nick-named E.T.). There is a huge amount of rocks and rock formations with plenty to explore and rocks climbing to suit all ages. Eagle and Castle rocks are the largest formations which are where most people stop for a picnic.

There is a small visitor centre with a shop and exhibition, you can also pick up an explorer backpack. In front of here, there are lots of picnic benches. There is also a kiosk selling hot and cold drinks and snacks. The toilets can also be found near here.
