Things to do at Dalby Forest review
Dalby Forest visitor centre is a good first point of call to any visit to this vast forest. In here you can find out what trails they have on and pick up explorer packs plus maps with walking and cycle trails. There are 13 walking trails and 6 cycling trails plus 4 running trails. The forest is stunningly beautiful and it has a series of valleys.
Their current trail is the Shaun the Sheep Farmageddon glow trail. Plus they also have a Gruffalo orienteering trail where you can also find Gruffalo sculptures. Some trails may have a small cost. They have a play area by the visitor centre and cafe.
This is a great spot for picnics. There’s a shallow stream at the bottom perfect for paddling in. The main playground has a large climbing structure with tube slide plus other slides, an assault course, swings, toddler area and more. In the woods, there is also the Grandfather oak play area with den building.
Dalby Forest has one of the many nationwide Go Ape treetop courses. There’s a junior course for younger children and a much higher and more difficult course for older children and adults. This is a paid activity. Forest segway is also available. With donations and volunteers, they are also attempting to build a drystone wall maze.
Covid 19 – Please check the website or social media of an attraction before visiting. Many places may be open differently and some remain closed. Reviews do not mention all of these changes or possible price changes. Most places now require you to pre-book online in advance.
