Things to do at Sywell Country Park review
Sywell Country Park is located on a former drinking water reservoir and has a beautiful expanse of water to walk around, sandpit outdoor play area, woodland play area with tunnels and famous big slide. Plus an indoor play area for the little ones which is attached to the Pump House café.
The 3 mile walk around the reservoir is mostly gravelled and great to wear out the kids. It is suitable for a buggy although maybe a little bumpy but that helps the little ones go to sleep! The sandpit play area & water pump is always popular with younger children & there are 2 baby swings. One basket swing is good for the older kids & the sand is always clean and soft.
Events are held throughout the year with Nature Tots being popular with the little ones, minibeast days and Nordic walking. In the summer of 2019 Sywell was even used for open water swimming and was held every Saturday. This will be repeated this year in association with Northants Triathlon Club/RLSS UK and they are hoping to allow swimming on Wednesdays and Saturdays as it was so popular. The cost will be £5 (extra if wetsuit required and you must register).
Dogs welcome around the park but not in the sand play area. Cycling is not permitted within Sywell Country Park.
Covid 19 – Please check the website or social media of an attraction before visiting. Many places may be open differently and some remain closed. Reviews do not mention all of these changes or possible price changes. Most places now require you to pre-book online in advance.
