Things to do at Northumberland Country Zoo review

The Northumberland Country Zoo is near Felton in Northumberland. It is a family-run zoo which is also a short drive from Morpeth and just over 20 miles from Newcastle. The park has 17 acres to explore with a good range of animals to see.

There are all sorts of unusual animals at the zoo including armadillos, skunks, macaws, snow leopards and lemurs. Plus wallabies, meerkats, raccoons, otters and more. They have daily keeper feeds and talks which are a great way to learn more about their animals.

Attractions at the zoo include miniature electric coin-operated tractors. There is an outdoor play area with plenty for kids to climb and play on. They also have pedal tractors and there is a tractor museum.

The zoo offers animal encounters at an additional cost. There is a wide range of encounters including Capybara encounter, donkey encounter, hawk walk, lemur encounter, meerkat encounter and more. These range in price, length of time and age of the participant. For most encounters, children need to be over the age of 10.
