Things to do at The Story Museum review

The Story Museum is an immersive museum with fascinating and unusual exhibitions located in the heart of Oxford.

You start your adventure in The Portal. You venture through the carved wooden doorway where you can explore 1001 stories. You can then enter the Mysterious wood where every tree has a story to tell and a secret to reveal. You will follow Firouz the Hare on an immersive audio trail to trace the ancient roots of stories.

In the Enchanted Library, you can experience a library like no other. You can wander between the shelves and find yourselves inside a story. Lose yourself in imaginary worlds with memorable moments from eight favourite stories. Inside the Treasure chamber, you will find their new exhibition space with touring exhibitions and visiting treasures.

You can also take a ride on their fantastical Story Craft and fly through a thousand years of Oxford’s story history. Your ‘flight’ will transport you to stories including Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Chronicles of Narnia and The Lord of the Rings. It is an audiovisual experience for ages 5 and over which lasts for 25 minutes.

Small Worlds is a story-play gallery designed for pre-school children. You can book timed sessions which run for 1 hour 15 minutes on Thursday and Friday mornings plus all day at the weekend. You will explore five themed zones and then enjoy a book read by one of their Story Guides on their giant bed.

Covid 19: Due to current restrictions not everything will be open, or it may be open differently to normal, at the attraction that you are visiting. Please consult their social media accounts, give them a call or visit their website if you can’t find the information you are looking for.
