Things to do at Blists Hill Victorian Town review

Blists Hill Victorian Town is part of the Ironbridge collection of museums near Telford in Shropshire. It is an open-air museum that will transport you back more than 100 years to a fantastic recreation of Victorian Life. You can visit it as part of a combined ticket or as an individual attraction.

There is a huge amount to see and explore within the recreated Victorian town, almost all aspects of Victorian life have been covered and to further enhance your visit all the staff are dressed in authentic period costume. They are fantastic and well worth stopping for a chat with to find out more about life back then plus there are daily demonstrations.

There are authentic shops and cottages, a bank, pharmacy, stables and a printing shop. Plus a large brick and tile works, Iron merchants, sweetshop, candle factory, plumbers and so much more. Also, there is a seasonal fairground with fairground rides (additional charge for the rides and attractions). The Mine railway is also seasonal, this takes you around the hillside and then stops in the tunnel where you will see a short AV presentation.

A new bespoke adventure play area is coming soon to Blists Hill. Attractions will include multi-level themed buildings linking to elevated walks above the woodland floor, a log-style basket swing, seesaw, immersive play areas, zip wire, toddler zone and a food and drinks kiosk with a seating area.
