Things to do at Avon Valley Railway review

Avon Valley Railway was first opened in 1869 by the Midland Railway. Its main station is at Bitton in Somerset and they now operate steam and diesel tourist trains. The track today is a 3 miles long heritage railway. The train rides offer some idyllic views across the Avon Valley.

The station at Bitton is an original station that has been painstakingly restored by volunteers. As well as the heritage train rides you can also go for a walk alongside the track of the Bristol and Bath Railway path (13 miles off-road route between Bristol and Bath). There is a small museum, a station buffet and a picnic area.

They also host a range of annual events many of which are especially for families. These include Teddy Bears picnic, Santa specials and more.

Covid 19: Due to current restrictions not everything will be open, or it may be open differently to normal, at the attraction that you are visiting. Please consult their social media accounts, give them a call or visit their website if you can’t find the information you are looking for.
