Things to do at Bristol Aquarium review

Located in the city centre, the aquarium is just a few yards from We The Curious and Millennium Square.

The underwater adventure begins in a sunken shipwreck, where native fish have claimed the wreck as their home. Inspired by UK coastlines, the exhibition features catsharks, crayfishes, lobsters and jellyfish.

The aquarium’s Urban Jungle is the only botanical house to feature in a UK aquarium, and it’s here you’ll get up-close-and-personal with several types of ray, terrapins and freshwater fish. Visit at 1.30pm to catch the bay of rays talk to learn more about them.

The exhibition leads on to the 60,000 litre Mighty Amazon display home to deadly piranhas, turtles, and other freshwater species.

But the real centrepiece of the aquarium is the open-top Coral Seas display. The 250,000-litre display is home to over 250 marine animals such as pufferfish, Nemo and Dory. Two underwater tunnels navigate through the display offering an immersive experience, with a floor-to-ceiling viewing window at the end of the two tunnels.
