Things to do at Wookey Hole review
Wookey hole is in the Mendip Hills not far from Wells. It has over 20 attractions including underground caves set in a picturesque river gorge.
The tour of the caves lasts for around an hour and you can only see the caves by joining a guided tour. These run regularly throughout the day. You will find out about the myths and legends which surround the caves including witches and people back from the Iron Age. It can be quite slippy so no wheelchairs or buggies are allowed in the caves.
Other attractions include a mystic fair garden decorated with magical fairy and elf sculptures. They also have lots of dinosaurs some of which roar and move. There is a Witch’s laboratory show and an Ice Age 4D film shown every 20 minutes. Plus exhibitions, a seasonal circus, mirror maze, penny arcade and a merry-go-round. There is also an indoor play area with a ball fight play area for bigger kids.
The circus is a must-see and the hall is themed like a traditional big top with tiered seating. There are three daily circus performances on select dates. They even have circus workshops, again on certain days of the year and these replace the show. There is even pirate adventure crazy golf.
Covid 19 – Please check the website or social media of an attraction before visiting. Many places may be open differently and some remain closed. Reviews do not mention all of these changes or possible price changes. Most places now require you to pre-book online in advance.
