Things to do at Clifton Park Rotherham review
Clifton Park is a large and activity filled park in the heart of Rotherham, South Yorkshire. It’s not just a place for walks amongst their gardens, there is plenty for the family to do there and certainly a place you could spend the whole day visiting.
There are lots of different areas to the park, there’s even a land train that takes people between the two main areas. This costs just £1.50 for a return ticket. There is a large free to use playground with something for all ages including a maze, swings, things to climb on, slides and a zip wire. It even has a 10-metre high slide, if you dare. Take a change of clothes as there is a massive sandpit and kids will love the magical musical stepping stones.
The water splash area is a big highlight during the warmer months. It is completely free to use with fountains, a paddling pool. whirpool and over 70 water jets that shoot water at random.
Golden Putter is the parks crazy golf course. It is an excellent facility and really well maintained. The 18 hole course is great fun for young and old. It is open for most of spring and summer and selected dates in the autumn and winter. The Fun Park has a good choice of rides and games to choose from with something for younger and older children. There’s a log flume, coaster, train, mini coaster, bumper cars and more. Rides are priced in credits at £1 for each credit, most rides are 1 credit. It opens on the same days as the crazy golf course.
Plus there are tennis courts, skate park, a bowling green and a rock garden There is even a museum. It is a modern museum that takes you through Rotherham’s history with plenty to see and do. The museum is free to visit.
