Things to do at Beacon Park review

Beacon Park is a 70-acre park in the centre of Lichfield, Staffordshire. It is a large open space with beautiful gardens and facilities within easy reach of the city centre.

You can visit the park for a leisurely walk in the museum gardens which is the formal part of the park. There are stunning floral displays and a centrepiece fountain. The park is Green Flag accredited and it’s a great family-friendly place to visit. There is a large play area next to the golf course and boating pool. There is plenty for kids to play on including swings, a climbing wall and a tunnel slide. There is an enclosed Junior play area with a large wooden play pirate ship, play train, swings, a spiral maze, wooden fort and more.

The boating pool is a great place to feed the ducks (feed available at the Ranger Station) and there are boats you can hire (weather dependent). The park also has woodland you can explore and you can take part in footgolf or disc golf (charges apply). Plus there is a crazy golf course you can have a go at. This costs £2.65 a game and is open almost all year round. Other sports facilities include football pitches, tennis courts, table tennis, bowls and boules.

On weekends and school holidays as the weather gets warmer the park has donkey rides, an inflatable slide, mini cars and more. There is a skatepark at the park that is suitable for skateboarding, BMX bikes, scooters and skates.

Covid 19: Due to current restrictions not everything will be open, or it may be open differently to normal, at the attraction that you are visiting. Please consult their social media accounts, give them a call or visit their website if you can’t find the information you are looking for.
