Things to do at Foxfield Light Railway review

Foxfield light railway is one of the UK’s oldest heritage steam railways. It was built in 1892 to provide a link to the North Staffordshire railway for the Foxfield Colliery. It now has two stations on a track length of 2.25 miles. The railway is run by a team of volunteers.

The railway runs a number of steam trains on their line. At the back of Caverswall station, there is a museum with some of its locomotives. You can learn about the restoration process and your visit is included with your ticket.

As well as the big steam engines they also have a miniature railway. This is a 7 1/4 gauge miniature railway run by the railway’s young volunteers. It was established in 2008 and is based on-site. The railway runs when the main service is in operation. Make sure you look out for the fairy garden!

Covid 19: Due to current restrictions not everything will be open, or it may be open differently to normal, at the attraction that you are visiting. Please consult their social media accounts, give them a call or visit their website if you can’t find the information you are looking for.
