Things to do at Warwick Castle review

Warwick castle is owned by Merlin Entertainments and is in the heart of Warwick. It was built in Medieval times and it was developed from a wooden fort that was built by William the Conqueror in 1068.

They have daily shows at the castle and they usually include guided tours of the castle, launching of their mighty trebuchet, flight of the eagle’s bird display plus a War of the roses live jousting display. Kids can also join in with a training camp to learn about how to be a knight.

There is a Horrible Histories themed maze where you have to collect stamps on your way around. It’s not the hardest maze to complete but there’s lots to find along the way which older kids will especially love. In the castle grounds, you can walk the battlement walls which are on a one-way system and involve a lot of steps up and down. There’s some great views along the way.

The Time Tower is an attraction within the clock tower with immersive audio-visual elements. On weekends you can go on a princess quest to solve a riddle. Kingmaker tells the story of the castles past with some excellent waxworks.

In the main house at Warwick castle, you can also see a series of rooms again with waxworks telling the story of what it was like to experience a lavish weekend party. You can also purchase an additional ticket for the Castle Dungeons (recommended for adults and children aged 10 and over).

Covid 19: Due to current restrictions not everything will be open, or it may be open differently to normal, at the attraction that you are visiting. Please consult their social media accounts, give them a call or visit their website if you can’t find the information you are looking for.
