Did you know that you can give the gift of a stay at Novotel? What a great gift for someone who has everything. Over at Buy A Gift .com you can choose from a great variety of gift experience vouchers. There’s experience days, days out, short breaks and many more voucher gifts to choose from. Plenty of these are also suitable for the whole family.
The lovely people at BuyAGift provided me with a voucher for a one night family break at a Novotel so that I could review the experience and the hotel. They have 1-2 night short break gift vouchers from glamping to spa’s and wonderful castle like hotels.
You can choose a voucher which allows your recipient to choose from a number of Novotel hotels across the UK, with 16 participating hotels in total. The voucher costs just £99.00 for a one night family break at a Novotel Hotel. You can even purchase a voucher for a 2 night Novotel family break for just £159. This could be a great saving, especially over the more expensive months of the year. I looked for this coming weekend in July and the equivalent room that is available with the £99 voucher is currently around £130 for the night via different booking sites.
Using my BuyaGift Voucher
It was really simple to use my BuyaGift Voucher. Once my voucher pack had arrived I chose a Novotel hotel that I wanted to stay at. I visited the BuyaGift voucher website and entered all the relevant information from my buyagift card that was included in my pack. This then provided me with the contact details to book the night I wanted at the hotel I had chosen. Again this process was simple. I simply rung them up with the date that we wanted to stay. It was available so they booked me in after I provided them with a special code created by the BuyaGift website. They then emailed me the booking confirmation. The hotel will want to see your voucher and your small voucher card when you check in so don’t forget them. Our stay also included breakfast which was a welcome bonus.
Our Stay at Novotel Hotel Stevenage
We were provided with review tickets for the family friendly Geronimo festival 2018 at Knebworth house. This hotel was ideally located not just for the festival but for anyone wanting to visit Knebworth house or the local area. It is situated right by the entrance to Knebworth House, you could even walk from the hotel although be warned that the entrance to Knebworth is a long walk. There is plenty to do at Knebworth including a Dino trail, adventure playground, house and gardens.
Nearby tourist attractions include Hatfield House, Warner Bros. Studio Tour & Paradise Wildlife Park.
The Novotel Hotel at Stevenage is located just off the A1 at Junction 7. I was expecting to hear the A1 from our hotel but incredibly it was one of the quietest hotels that we have ever stayed in. Not only were the windows pretty much sound proof to the traffic but the corridors were also very quiet. We slept so well during our stay because of it. Parking at the hotel was included in our room rate.
The Hotel Itself
It was the first time that we had ever stayed in a Novotel and I have to say that it won’t be our last. It was a lovely hotel. The hotel was well air conditioned which was very much appreciated as it had reached 28oC that day. Everywhere was clean, the staff were friendly, polite and quick to assist. There was even a small playground for the kids and an on site restaurant.
There’s even an interactive games table and a small chest of toys for the kids in the reception area. This was great for me as normally Jamie’s bouncing around at my heels whilst I try to concentrate on checking in.
Breakfast was served as a buffet. They had the usual options of cereal, toast, pastries and cooked hot food such as sausages and bacon. The food was hot and tasty. We didn’t struggle to find things that we like to eat.
Our Room at the Novotel
Our husband couldn’t join us so we ended up booking a twin room. The hotel was refurbished in 2016 and everywhere still looks very new, including the rooms. We had free wi-fi which was fast and reliable. As mentioned above everywhere, including our bedroom, was air conditioned. We were located on the ground floor and just a short walk from reception.
Our room was really big, modern and spacious. We had two large twin beds which were comfy, they both had a bedside table. There was a desk with a chair, large wall mounted TV, telephone, Wifi, iron, safe, tea and coffee making facilities. With the added bonus of a fridge which had 2 complimentary bottles of water in it. This was a great addition for us and something we often hope that we have when we stay at a hotel (especially in very hot weather!). The room also had a small sofa type seat.
The shower room was very modern in design and decor. There was a big walk in shower plus a large sink and a toilet in a separate room (very French).
I would certainly recommend this hotel and I would also recommend buy a gift as a great place to buy gift experiences. We were satisfied with both.
